Supporting New Beginnings Since 2017

Bilal Community & Family Centre community members and youth

From a Grassroots Vision to a Beacon of Hope

Bilal Community & Family Centre was founded in 2017 by Muhaidin Omar with a vision of creating a welcoming space where immigrant, refugee, newcomer, and diverse families could find the support, resources, and opportunities needed to build successful lives in Canada.

What began as a grassroots effort to address the growing needs of Winnipeg's newcomer communities has grown into a trusted community organization serving thousands of individuals and families each year. Guided by the belief that strong families build strong communities, BCFC has expanded its programs to meet the evolving needs of those it serves.

Today, BCFC offers a wide range of services that support individuals at every stage of their journey – from settlement assistance and language learning to youth leadership, employment readiness, family wellness, and community engagement. Every program is designed to remove barriers, promote inclusion, and create pathways to long-term success.

As our community continues to grow, so does our commitment to creating opportunities, strengthening partnerships, and helping every individual reach their full potential. Together with our staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners, we are building a more connected, inclusive, and resilient Winnipeg.
